Loud fireworks are just not necessary

CAN someone explain to me why anyone thinks it necessary to set off very loud fireworks at 9.45pm? Each one sounding like a cannon exploding, which must be terrifying for pets and wildlife, let alone sleeping infants. This was not on New Year’s Eve or Christmas Day, but just some random Sunday night.

Surely it’s possible to celebrate, whatever the occasion happens to be, with more consideration for the rest of the community you live in?
