Rule breakers should be named and shamed

I AM confused about one aspect of the press coverage of the pandemic.

In the “good old days” motoring offenders and others who broke the law were named by the press usually along with details of the offence and the locality that they came from.

Yet during this pandemic, when someone is slapped with a fine for organising a “rave” which could indirectly have caused the death of one or more people by accelerati­ng the spread of the virus, we are not told their name or where they come from. Publicly naming the miscreants would act as more of a deterrent to others and maybe a photograph would be in order? Malcolm Green
