Girl ‘blue with cold’ is missing after river plunge

-

POLICE say they are concerned for the welfare of a 16-year-old girl who told witnesses she had fallen in a river.

The teenager was last seen at around 7.50am yesterday walking south on the B3311 in Gulval, at the junction with Polmennor Road (Gear Hill) and Green Lane Hill, near Penzance.

She is described as a white female, 16 years old with a slim build and long dark hair, wearing a black hoody but not wearing shoes.

The teenager had stated she had fallen into a river and lost her bag and wellies somewhere near Treveylor. A police spokesperson said: “She was wet through, hair frozen and blue in the face. Police wish to identify and locate this female.”

A police helicopter circled over Penzance as part of the search for her. Police last night asked members of the public to report any sightings or information.
