Danger of becoming normalised to Covid

THIS present virus catastrophe? Let me put it into focus. Most of us will remember the man-made atrocity of 9/11, when 3,000 people died. It shook the world and stopped us in our tracks. Everyone with any sense of compassion wept at the appalling sight. Here in the UK we are witnessing the equivalent loss of life every three days. At this rate, we have had 26 9/11s in the past nine months. Just imagine it another way – 53 Titanic maritime sinkings.

Two things baffle me here. The way gradualism has adjusted and normalised so many of us to these Covid losses, evidenced by the moaning, criticism, cynicism, nitpicking and fault finding by so many, and the professional opinionated news correspondents who, apparently, have all the answers.

Secondly, why on earth are we likely going to further meddle with science on the farms?

There is another factor too. I am yet to hear from government, read in the press, hear on the radio, or see on the television any hint of “Getting right with God”, the one who wrote the science in the first place. Watch and see what he can do.
