Israeli planes in strike on Syria
ISRAELI planes have carried out intense air strikes on eastern Syria, apparently targeting positions and arms depots of Iran-backed fighters.
Dozens of fighters were killed or wounded, according to an opposition war monitor, which reported at least 18 strikes in the town of Deir el-Zour as well as others along the border with Iraq, and added that several arms depots were hit.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 23 people were killed.
