LONG LOST FAMILY
ITV, 9pm
LONG succeeding where Google searches have failed, the LLF team reunites more relatives who have been separated for years.
Expert breakers of news, Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell are the shoulders to cry on, the sharers of cups of tea and family stories.
And the stories are absolute heartbreakers every time.
One tear jerker tonight is the poignant story of Phyllis and Kevin Haran, who contacted the show after more than 40 years searching for their firstborn son.
The couple fell in love as teenagers in Ireland in the 1970s and Phyllis became pregnant.
Aware of the scandal, they ran away to England to bring up their baby. But left homeless and jobless, the child was adopted against their will.
“We loved him,” said Kevin. “We never wanted him adopted. He’s lost and we want him back.”
The couple has since suffered another major tragedy, too. It has been a lifetime of loss, and they’re hoping to finally find some joy.
