Migrants rescued on Greek island
THE Greek coastguard says it has rescued 24 people and recovered the body of one man from the Aegean island of Lesbos.
A search and rescue operation was launched by the coastguard for a further three potentially missing people.
The 25 people, believed to be migrants who had arrived by boat from nearby Turkey, were located on an inaccessible part of the island’s southern coast yesterday and were transported from the area by a coastguard vessel, the coastguard said.
