Body of climber found in Pakistan

A CLIMBER who went missing last week while trying to scale a mountain amid harsh winter weather in northern Pakistan has been found dead, the region’s tourist police and the Alpine Club of Pakistan said.

The tourist police in the town of Gilgit stated that Alex Goldfarb, a Russian-American, went missing last Friday while he was trying to reach the summit of Pastore Peak, on the Pakistani side of the Himalayan range. The Pakistan army found the body on Monday, after a day-long search.
