BACK for a second run, this Morecambe-set crime thriller moves on to a brand new – instantly gripping – murder investigation.
In the last series, DC Lisa Armstrong (Morven Christie) was suspended after withholding vital information about a case. Now she’s on the community beat as penance, desperately hoping that fuming boss DI Tony Manning (Daniel Ryan) will forgive her.
It begins as many crime dramas do, with scenes of happy family life and a sense of impending doom. Someone will soon be dead – we’re not sure who, when or how.
When it happens, it’s pretty shocking.
The murder does give Lisa the chance to prove herself as a family liaison officer again when Manning allows her back on a case. But her previously lower-ranking colleague Med (Taheen Modak) is now in charge and it’s a bitter pill to swallow.
Watch out for a starry cast including Lindsey Coulson, James Cosmo, Joe Absolom, Sunetra Sarker, Sharon Small and Stephen Tompkinson.
