On behalf of all the ‘selfish’ people...
LOIS Eberhard calls people like me who stay at home to save lives as being selfish. I put my hands up. Yes, that’s me.
I selfishly stay at home so that, in case I have Covid-19 without realising it, I avoid infecting others.
I selfishly stay at home to try to avoid catching Covid-19 to lessen the risk of overwhelming the NHS, which is on its knees trying to cope.
I selfishly stay at home because that is what scientists and government say will help stop the spread of a deadly disease.
So yes, I’m a thoroughly selfish person who thinks only of myself.
Ms Eberhard also says that transmission of the virus is much reduced outdoors.
Yes, that seems to be the case but seeing crowds of protesters in very close proximity negates most of the outside benefit.
So I say cheers and good health to all of us selfish indoors people.
