Daft idea to reward Covid sufferers

-

AT Christmas time, we always hear of parents telling their kids: “If you’re not good, Father Christmas won’t bring you any presents”.

However, we never hear of any children saying to their parents: “If you promise to be a good and proper parent, I’ll give you £500”.

Whatever idiot even suggested you should be given £500 to selfisolate if you happen to test positive for Covid-19 needs locking up themselves for such a ludicrous suggestion, wide open to such blatant abuse. A £500 enforcement penalty would be more effective for any deliberate act to endanger other people’s lives.

Which is more effective in this particular case? Carrot or stick? Certainly not a £500 carrot, in this case.

It would be as effective as the Ducking Stool in the Middle Ages to prove a witch’s guilt or innocence, with even more disastrous consequences.
