Ferry breakdown on Tamar crossing
PASSENGERS stranded on a brokendown Torpoint Ferry in the River Tamar for two hours have criticised the lack of information.
The Lynher suffered a power failure as it headed to Cornwall on Wednesday and eventually had to be pulled over by a tug.
Drivers in about 20 cars and a handful of foot passengers had to wait in the fog as engineers failed to fix the problem. Tamar Crossings, which runs the service, has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
The two other ferries kept running to minimise delays. But foot passenger Les Willcock said: “There was a severe lack of information. It was 30 minutes at least before anyone informed the passengers of what was going on.”
