THERE are whoops and cheers in the boys’ ‘Sarffend’ caff when Oscar Awardwinning actress Susan Sarandon walks through the doors.
“I’ve never been here before!” she exclaims, in the most unsurprising of statements.
To a thrilled audience, she chats about her lengthy movie career, her activism, juggling family life and work and of course, food.
With a love of New Orleans, having spent so much time filming there and winning
Best Actress for Dead Man Walking, which was filmed and set there, Susan is treated to the boys’ ultimate seafood gumbo.
Then Jamie pays tribute to Susan’s Italian roots by making Sicilian-inspired chicken thighs wrapped in smoky pancetta. Stuffed with a pesto-come-salsa-verde, it’s skewered and cooked with potatoes and tomatoes.
Elsewhere, the boys get giddy with excitement as they get the chance to make their very own English sparkling wine.
Let’s just say they sample the bubbles a bit too enthusiastically…
