Liverpool see off West Ham
MOHAMED Salah ended his goal drought in spectacular style as Liverpool won 3-1 at West Ham to move up to third in the Premier League table.
The Egyptian forward had gone six league matches without a goal, but his two exquisite second-half strikes and a third from Georginio Wijnaldum moved the Reds to within a point of second-placed Manchester United.
West Ham, who scored a late consolation through Craig Dawson, lie fifth in the standings.
Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso showed up Chelsea’s misfiring forwards as the Blues defenders netted fine strikes in a 2-0 win over Burnley to secure Thomas Tuchel’s first victory in charge.
Chelsea moved up to seventh in the table courtesy of just a third win in 10 league matches.
Leicester lost the opportunity to go second as they were swept aside by Leeds at the King Power Stadium.
Harvey Barnes put the Foxes in front, but Stuart Dallas immediately replied for the visitors, who went ahead against the run of play through a superb Patrick Bamford strike midway through the second half. Bamford unselfishly set up Jack Harrison with six minutes remaining to seal a 3-1 win for Leeds.
