We’re hardly an independent nation!
MANY companies which run our utilities are still owned and controlled by overseas governments.
At least four of our major power companies are owned or controlled by French, German or Spanish governments. Twenty of our national train lines are owned or run by foreign state-owned or controlled companies. We were promised that, on leaving Europe, Britain would become a fully independent nation with control over our own affairs.
The Government’s long-awaited “oven ready” trade deal is now a month old, yet British exporters are still facing delays and difficulties in exporting goods to Europe.
If we are not in total control of our own affairs, just what was the point of Brexit?
