Tangier flood kills at least 24

AT least 24 workers have been killed in the Moroccan city of Tangier after heavy rain flooded a clandestin­e garment factory yesterday, according to state news agency MAP.

Local authoritie­s said firefighte­rs and emergency workers rescued ten survivors from the factory, in the basement of a residentia­l villa.

Search operations were under way yesterday to rescue other workers trapped inside the flooded factory. An investigat­ion has been launched.
