E-scooters are a transport revolution

WHY not amuse yourself in lockdown by keeping an eye open where you live to see if you can spot anyone out and about on an electric scooter?

These are booming in Bristol city centre. Young people love them! Low cost, easy to use, fast, zero pollution, no insurance, no parking problems – it’s not hard to see just what attracts young people to these e-scooters compared to cars.

I even saw a pensioner out on one recently! They had probably had their jab and were celebrating being safer to go out for exercise.

E-scooters are a transport revolution for all ages. A middleaged friend of mine is talking of giving up his car and buying one. He reckons he can buy one, plus hire them monthly, plus pay for a bus pass – and still save thousands of pounds a year compared to his high car running costs. Result!

It’s a transport revolution, it really is, and it’s happening before our eyes.
