Show cancelled for second year

-

ORGANISERS of the Camborne Show have decided to cancel this year’s event because of the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to be held in July, the oneday agricultural show has grown to become a popular date in the region’s rural calendar, having expanded its trade stands and adding a well-supported vintage vehicle section.

Set on 50 acres of land on Cornwall’s north coast near Hell’s Mouth, the showground at Gwealavellan Farm is one of the country’s most scenic, with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and across St Ives Bay.

In a statement, the Camborne Show Society said that in view of the current situation and the time taken to stage such an event, the executive committee “would rather spend that time in preparing for the 2022 show, rather than rushing into putting on a show that would not meet the high standards that we have worked so hard to attain”.

Chairman of the society, Reg Bennett, said that in 2022 he was looking forward to “a triumphant return” after an enforced two year break.
