Dairy awarded cream of food certification
ADEVON-BASED dairy company is celebrating after being awarded a prestigious food safety certification for the second consecutive year.
Millbrook Dairy Company, founded in 2019 by David Evans and Kevin Beer and headquartered in Bideford, has been granted AA accreditation in a recent BRCGS audit.
BRCGS, which is globally recognised across both food and non-food categories, operates the most rigorous third party certification scheme of its type.
The BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety, developed by food industry experts to ensure it is rigorous and detailed, provides a framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality and quality, and the operational controls for these criteria in the food and food ingredient manufacturing, processing and packing industry.
Teresa Pollard, technical and process manager at the Millbrook Dairy Company, worked closely with BRCGS throughout the audit process and said: “This is an incredible achievement for us and a fantastic result for the whole team – a real testament to their hard work and dedication.
“In what has certainly been a challenging year for many, when the entire food industry has worked incredibly hard to keep our nation fed, we are proud that we have played our small part in that whilst also maintaining only the highest of standards”.
Turning over £15.5 million in its first year, five times more than its initial expectations, the Millbrook Dairy Company supplies a range of British and Irish cheese and butter to customers in the United Kingdom as well as the USA, China, Canada and South America.
Now entering its third year of trading, the business has recently launched a new service to UK wholesalers
