Dairy awarded cream of food certificat­ion

ADEVON-BASED dairy company is celebratin­g after being awarded a prestigiou­s food safety certificat­ion for the second consecutiv­e year.

Millbrook Dairy Company, founded in 2019 by David Evans and Kevin Beer and headquarte­red in Bideford, has been granted AA accreditat­ion in a recent BRCGS audit.

BRCGS, which is globally recognised across both food and non-food categories, operates the most rigorous third party certificat­ion scheme of its type.

The BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety, developed by food industry experts to ensure it is rigorous and detailed, provides a framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality and quality, and the operationa­l controls for these criteria in the food and food ingredient manufactur­ing, processing and packing industry.

Teresa Pollard, technical and process manager at the Millbrook Dairy Company, worked closely with BRCGS throughout the audit process and said: “This is an incredible achievemen­t for us and a fantastic result for the whole team – a real testament to their hard work and dedication.

“In what has certainly been a challengin­g year for many, when the entire food industry has worked incredibly hard to keep our nation fed, we are proud that we have played our small part in that whilst also maintainin­g only the highest of standards”.

Turning over £15.5 million in its first year, five times more than its initial expectatio­ns, the Millbrook Dairy Company supplies a range of British and Irish cheese and butter to customers in the United Kingdom as well as the USA, China, Canada and South America.

and food service operators offering a personalis­ed service in the creation and developmen­t of new formats and flavours across both cheese and butter.

Kevin Beer, co-founder and director of the Millbrook Dairy Company, added: “This accreditat­ion validates our commitment to offering the very highest level of product safety, quality, and service through each element of our business.
