Britain is too soft and needs to toughen up

-

WE never hear Keir Starmer complaining about the large demonstrations and other gatherings which are still going on, or supporting the police and government both desperately trying to stop them.

I haven’t heard Starmer praising Boris for the huge and successful number of vaccinations done in this country compared to other European countries.

What happens to all these illegal immigrants coming over here in boats and lorries, if caught, are they tested and automatically isolated for 10 days at their own expense? They should be sent back to where they came from, straight away, passports or not, to stop the ever increasing flow. Britain is too soft and we need to be firmer, especially with the EU, who are wanting to punish us for leaving their precious dictatorship.

I agree with Edward Kynaston’s letter: “Sorry saga down to EU protectionism”. All this extra red tape and delays they have brought in when there is no need for it.

We need to teach Brussels a lesson and show them we will not be treated like this. They obviously don’t understand the meaning of “a level playing field”. Why are we allowing imports into Britain from the EU without all the red tape that they demand from us?

Unfortunately, whatever our government says, this isn’t a temporary blip of causing delays and disruptions by the EU but it will continue, as once again they are showing their true colours and behaving like spoilt brats and it is obvious we can’t trust them.

We should refuse to import and stop exporting products to the EU, until they come to their senses, as we will not tolerate their selfish behaviour. The EU Commissioners need to realise we can deal with other countries and we don’t need them as much as they need us.

On another subject, concerning Shaun Shute and other Remoaners reminds me of the Australian term they call British people “whingeing poms.” From Shaun Shute’s regular complaining letters, he obviously hates Boris Johnson, Brexit and this government, so why doesn’t he go and live in the EU, that is if they will have him.
