Couldn’t leave even if we wanted to!

-

SO has Mr Brooking has been deposed as chief Boris Johnson cheerleader by Ms Capel? (‘Britain too soft and needs to toughen up’, February 12).

In her wide-ranging letter she takes potshots at anyone who challenges her world view without citing many facts to support her opinions.

She takes aim at Keir Starmer, illegal immigrants, and of course the perennial favourite, the EU.

I do not understand why

Brexiteers are still complaining.

The British people voted to leave the EU (albeit with the slightest of majorities) and we left. The EU did not ask us to go.

Boris Johnson and his gang promised us unicorns, a pot of gold and sun-caressed post-Brexit uplands and negotiated and signed the deal we now have.

Things are not quite as rosy as promised but how come everything is solely the fault of the EU?

She advises disaffected ‘remoaner’ Shaun Shute to go and live in the EU.

Has she not realised he cannot? We no longer have freedom of movement.
