ITV, 9pm

-

IT’S the final episode of this always-emotional series, but if you thought you might be sobbed out after tonight’s DIY SOS – think again.

Tonight’s superb episode follows devoted mum and grandmother Julie Johnson, who is trying to track down the son that she was forced to give up for adoption when she was just a teenager herself and who she has loved and missed all his life.

Just as the team mange to track him down, Covid hits and the country is put into lockdown and Julie is separated from him again.

We also meet foster carer Susane King, brought up as an only child by her very strict grandparents, estranged from her mother, who one day overheard a family secret – she had two sisters who had been given up for adoption.

Ever since then, Susane has been desperate to find her sisters and hopes they had a better childhood than she did.
