Electricity pylon fire warning

PEOPLE living near two Devon villages were urged to stay inside their homes, after electricity was seen flashing from a pylon.

Newton Abbot Fire Station issued the warning for properties near the villages of Ogwell and Denbury at around 10pm on Saturday.

A fire crew was dispatched following reports of a fire in an electrical installation. Firefighters found a pylon in a garden emitting flashes of blue light and sending electrical surges.
