Another cider to Joanna’s travels...
JOANNA LUMLEY’S HOME SWEET HOME – TRAVELS IN MY OWN LAND
WE’D follow Joanna Lumley pretty much anywhere, it’s just such a joy to have her on the box. It would’ve been fair to assume this series might be a bit less exciting than her previous journeys, without the wow factor or the tropical locales we’re used to, but Jo has the knack to make anywhere and anyone seem glamorous, exotic and interesting.
For this final episode she’s travelling from North Wales to the West Country, before returning to her hometown of London.
She starts in the lunar-like slate quarries of Blaenau Ffestiniog, then goes to Carmarthen to meet singer Wynne Evans (yes, he’s the GoCompare man) and visit the local theatre his family saved from demolition (of course he serenades her).
She tries cider in Somerset, meets Druids on Dartmoor, visits a tiny Cornish island, and samples all the fun of the fair with a family of travelling showpeople in Southampton.
