Couple discharged together after C-19 recovery

-

A HUSBAND and wife have left Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital’s Red Zone together, after both recovering from Covid-19.

Elizabeth and Howard Hudson were cheered by staff members at Derriford as they left the hospital.

The couple were admitted to the hospital together on February 1 and are said to have remained by each other’s side throughout their time in the Red Zone Covid-19 ward.

The couple were discharged and were able to head back home. Hospital staff formed a line and applauded them as they walked out of the ward together, arm in arm.

Howard stopped midway through to blow the nurses a kiss, before cheekily jumping over the Red Zone ‘barrier line’ on his way home.

Excited to head home, he forgot to put his mask on – and Elizabeth had to hit him on the arm to remind him to put it on.

Walking towards the exit, Elizabeth told the staff to “stay well” while she was leaving. One nurse told the couple to enjoy themselves at home, to which Howard responded: “We will”.
