Earth moves for seaside villagers

-

RESIDENTS of a seaside house in Cornwall had to be evacuated, following a landslip caused by heavy rain.

The incident happened off Beach Road in Porthtowan, where a large earth bank behind properties near the village centre partially collapsed.

Fire crew from Tolvaddon community fire station attended the scene and cordoned off the area. Residents from one property were urged to move. A neighbour said: “The fire brigade were concerned the rest of the bank may come down as the earth had come from the middle.”
