BMW driver hurt in serious crash

THE driver of a BMW suffered life-threatening injuries and had to be cut free from the wreckage of his car, after a crash in Torquay in the early hours yesterday.

The southbound A3022 from Walnut Road to the A379 remained closed yesterday afternoon due to the accident, with police at the scene.

The injured man, who was cut from the vehicle by fire fighters, was taken to hospital by ambulance. The heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor police HQ was deployed at the scene.
