Rail services are disrupted by rain

THE railway line between Newquay and Par in Cornwall was partially flooded yesterday, after a weekend of heavy rain.

The line was a number across England on which services were disrupted by floodwater, after almost 36 hours of heavy rain in some areas.

Much of the Westcountry escaped the heaviest downpours, although a yellow weather warning was in place until yesterday for central and southern Devon and eastern Cornwall.
