Covid tests for essential workers

REGULAR testing for people in the Torbay community who do not have Covid symptoms will begin from a new site, at the Splashdown Quaywest car park in Goodrington, from next week.

Health Minister Lord Bethell said that one in three people is asymptomatic and praised Torbay Council’s phased roll-out of testing. “I’m delighted that Torbay Council is working with us to roll out asymptomatic testing in Torbay, and I look forward to seeing the results,” he said.

From March 1, Torbay Council begins to roll out its Covid-19 Community Testing programme to provide regular tests for staff who have to work and cannot do so from home.

The first staff members are being invited to be tested from next Monday.
