Bidders ready to splash the cash in online sales
OVER £600,000 worth of agricultural and plant machinery has been sold this year by Devon auctioneers.
Husseys, based in Exeter, has taken full advantage of its well-established online platform during the Covid-19 pandemic. Its two sales held in January saw over 2,100 lots sold, with over 1,200 lots changing hands in the recent February sale.
With “no shortage of buyers” ready to spend, Husseys said equipment was sourced from across the UK and Ireland, as well as Poland and the Czech Republic, Moscow, Greece and Zimbabwe.
Some of the leading prices achieved so far this year include £12,400 for a John Deere XUV 855M 2018 Gator, £11,200 for a Sumitomo 10-tonne excavator and £10,800 for a JCB 8030 excavator, complete with four buckets.
Also changing hands for £9,700 was a John Deere 855D 2014 gator, while a Groundhog GP360 mobile welfare unit sold for £8,900.
