Police raids in Bodmin lead to arrests and seizure of drugs

-

A NUMBER of people have been arrested for drug offences in Bodmin.

Devon and Cornwall Police officers and a police dog handler carried out a number of raids last Friday related to ongoing action concerning ‘county line’ drug gangs.

A number of people were arrested under the Misuse of Drugs Act, after a quantity of suspected Class A drugs were located and seized by officers, in addition to other items which will now form the basis of an investigation into the supply of such drugs locally.

Police say that the supply of illegal drugs across Bodmin and Wadebridge is currently one of their priorities and the arrests illustrate efforts being made to combat the ongoing issue. The raids came days after five people – three men and two women – were arrested in similar raids in Exeter.

Police are asking anyone who has any information that may assist their enquiries related to ongoing drug supply in Bodmin to contact them using crime reference CR/027877/21 by phoning 101 or by emailing 101@ devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk.

A statement on Bodmin police’s Facebook page read: “On Friday 9th April, officers from Bodmin response, neighbourhood and East Cornwall special constable teams worked together with Devon and Cornwall Police Force Support Group and a police dog handler to effect a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant in Bodmin.

“As a result, a number of persons have been arrested after a quantity of suspected Class A drugs were located and seized along with other items which will now be subject of an investigation into the supply of those drugs locally.”
