Ice-cream maker scoops new award

A DEVON-BASED ice-cream producer which specialise­s in catering for the food service and retail sectors has scooped a prestigiou­s industry accolade.

Yarde Farm Ice-cream’s popular Blackcurra­nt and Clotted Cream Ice-cream was judged Best New Dessert / Ice-cream / Confection­ery Product at the British Frozen Food Federation 2020 Annual Frozen Food

Awards.

Recognisin­g the country’s best frozen food products and judged by panels of independen­t consumers, this latest success brings the Yarde Farm awards tally to over 70 within the industry.

Gilson, said: “We are thrilled to have been recognised, yet again, for our ice-cream and we are delighted that Yarde Farm’s reputation for manufactur­ing premium dairy ice-cream and sorbets has been reinforced with this prestigiou­s award.

“We’re extremely proud of our loyal and skilled team who create our amazing ice-cream and sorbets.

“As Yarde Farm’s reputation continues to grow nationally, regionally and locally, the future looks set to be very exciting.”

Yarde Farm Ice-cream is based in Plympton, where it employs 18 people and is ‘A’ grade accredited to the BRC Global Food Standard. The firm says its ice-cream is made with the finest ingredient­s, including fresh double cream, creating a variety of sumptuous flavours.

It is also a member of the Ice-cream Alliance, which promotes artisan dairy ice-cream makers.

Ice-cream output at the factory regularly reaches 55,000 litres per week.

There are more than 40 types of ice-cream for customers to choose from, including innovative flavours such as Unicorn, a strawberry ice-cream with blueberry ripple and white marshmallo­ws; Reese’s Peanut Butter, Black Forest Gateau, Popcorn and Lotus Biscoff – all being offered at ice-cream parlours, restaurant­s and cafes all across the UK.
