Two climbers die on Everest
A SWISS climber and an American have died on Mount Everest in the climbing season’s first fatalities on the world’s highest mountain, expedition organisers said yesterday.
The Swiss climber, Abdul Waraich, 41, reached the peak before having difficulties, said Chhang Dawa Sherpa, of expedition organiser Seven Summit Treks in Nepal.
United States national Puwei Liu, 55, died at the highest camp on the mountain, South Col, without reaching the summit.
