Pleased to welcome back holiday visitors

-

ALTHOUGH not everybody living in Cornwall welcomes visitors, there is no doubt that whether they are just there to visit their Aunty Blanche, or for a holiday, Cornwall badly needs the income that they bring.

There are probably many more tourist attractions per square mile in Cornwall than there are in any other county.

Thousands of people are employed in these places – holiday parks, bed and breakfasts, hotels, shops, petrol stations – and depend on them to pay their wages.

I know it can be annoying when usually quiet roads suddenly become jammed with visitors’ cars, but the network of good main roads would probably not be there for residents’ use, if it were not for the thousands of visitors who use them.

So, for these reasons, I am glad the pandemic restrictions have been eased, people can now come to Cornwall and hopefully this year will be better than last year and many businesses and jobs will be saved.
