A: "How did you get on in the exam?" Linda asked. "The results were to be out today."

Susie nodded. "They were," she replied. "If five of the kids below me had been above me, there would have been as many above as below me. But, if five of the kids above had been below me, there would have been three times as many below as above me."

How many were above her?

B: "You know the bags we bought last week?" asked Ben, looking at an invoice. "Two styles and as many of each as its price in pounds. The difference between the totals is just £136."

"Yes I did notice," Sarah replied.

"Well the funny thing is that last month we had a smaller invoice for two entirely different styles of bags. Again the quantity of each style was equal to the price in pounds, and there was exactly that same £136 difference."

How many were bought on the two occasions?
