Truro aim to keep run going

-

TRURO City are looking unstoppable in the Southern League Premier right now, but their unbeaten record will be put to the test at sixth-placed Metropolitan Police tomorrow, writes Stuart James.

Paul Wotton’s side made it 14 league games unbeaten last weekend when they thrashed North Leigh 6-0 at Bolitho Park, although hot on their heels remain Weston-super-Mare, who are just a point behind.

Tiverton Town enjoyed a superb win at Winchester City last week. Trailing 1-0 with just four minutes remaining, goals from Matt Britton and Leighton Thomas saw Scott and Martyn Rogers’ side turn things round and claim the points.

Tomorrow, the Yellows welcome Hartley Witney to Ladysmead knowing that a win – and results elsewhere going in their favour – could propel them into the play-off zone.

Plymouth Parkway have the chance to climb the table when they welcome Hayes & Yeading to Bolitho Park. Lee Hobbs’ side have not played since the 3-1 win over Bristol Manor Farm in the FA Trophy on October 29.

In Division One South, Tavistock are up to second place after their stunning 7-3 win at rock bottom Lymington in midweek and the Lambs welcome Wimborne Town to Langsford Park tomorrow.

Third-placed Exmouth have lost three games in a row now and will look to get back on track with a tricky trip to Frome Town, who are fourth, while Willand Rovers have also suffered a slight blip and are without a win in four now. They welcome Bristol Manor Farm to Silver Street tomorrow, while second from bottom Bideford head to Slimbridge, two places and three points above them at the wrong end of the table.
