Remembrance services across Westcountry
AT village war memorials and town centre monuments, people across the Westcountry came together to pay tribute to those who gave their lives in conflict.
Services honoured those in Devon and Cornwall who died in the world wars and other conflicts, with congregations falling silent at 11am yesterday in memory of members of the military and civilians who perished.
This year’s Remembrance Sunday was made all the more poignant on the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War, and in light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Special services were held at churches across the region, including at Exeter and Truro cathedrals.
