Local festive produce at Christmas market
MORE than 100 traders based in twinkling festive chalets are set to bring festive cheer to this year’s Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market.
The market, which has been hosted and managed by Exeter Cathedral since 2017, attracts an estimated 600,000 visitors.
The market has a strong focus on supporting local traders and brings together a diverse range of Devonmade gifts, decorations, food and drink.
Visitors needing a break from shopping can enjoy the market’s bars and entertainment. Two local bar operators are making their Christmas Market debut this year. Dr Ink’s Curiosities is planning a Dickensian theme, while the market’s main bar, The Cathedral Tavern, will be run by Crossed Anchors Brewing, based in Exmouth. The brewery is going to create a new-look bar at this year’s market and bring a drinks menu to suit all tastes, including its own craft beers.
There will also be live seasonal entertainment including the cathedral’s own professional musicians, the Exeter Cathedral Choir, and the cathedral itself will be opening its doors to sightseers free of charge.
The market opens at 5pm on Friday, November 18, and continues until Sunday, December 18. It is open 10am to 7pm Monday to Wednesday, 10am to 9pm Thursday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
