Three shot dead at US university

AUTHORITIES in the United States have said the suspect in a shooting at the University of Virginia that killed three members of its football team has been taken into custody.

The suspect in the Sunday night shooting in the city of Charlottesville, Virginia, has been identified as Christopher Darnell Jones Jnr.

Two other people were wounded in the shooting, which happened on a bus of students who were returning from an off-campus trip.
