Earl of Wessex has not had fair deal

-

I WAS very surprised and disappointed when I read that King Charles is going against his late father’s wishes and that the Earl of Wessex won’t be given the title of Duke of Edinburgh.

I think it was expected that the Queen would have given it to Prince Edward before she sadly died. King Charles says he wants to officially reduce the royal family, but he has already taken Prince Harry and Prince Andrew off his official list and, as he is giving more responsibility and extra duties to the Earl of Wessex, it seems only right that he should carry out his late mother and father’s wishes and give him the title of Duke of Edinburgh. It should not make any difference to King Charles’ plans and would be a nice gesture to his youngest brother.

On a different subject, what the Government need to do is drastically cut the number of peers in the

House of Lords and, for the ones who do attend, for them to get their too high daily allowance, they must stay the full sessions.

Also, in both the House of Commons and House of Lords, their food and drink which is subsidised, must be stopped immediately. By doing this, it will save an enormous amount of money.

Our Royal Family is a credit to Britain and brings in a lot of revenue with overseas visitors, etc, and does more good than politicians in both houses, who seem to spend taxpayers’ money as if it is going out of fashion. The way things are going, Britain is going downhill fast.
