Parkway drawn at home to Dulwich

- Writes Stuart James.

PLYMOUTH Parkway’s reward for beating Oxford United in the FA Trophy on Saturday is a third round clash at home to Dulwich Hamlet,

The clash is a repeat of last season’s third round clash which Parkway, then a Southern League Division One side won on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Bolitho Park.

River Allen netted a 15th minute penalty and the Yellows looked on course for a famous victory against the National League South side, but they equalised in stoppage time to send the match to penalty kicks. But Parkway held their nerve and won through to round four, where they were beaten by Spennymoor Town.

While it is a home draw for Lee Hobbs’ side, there may be some disappointment that it is not a tie against a ‘new’ team, given the two sides have met before, but Parkway will certainly fancy their chances of another huge upset.

On Saturday, they won at Oxford City, ninth in National South, while Dulwich Hamlet are languishing in 20th place in the division, winning five of their 16 league games so far.

Hobbs side are in action again tonight when they play host to Dorchester Town in the Southern League Premier Division.

It is one defeat in seven league games now for Parkway, a run which has seen them slowly move their way up the table after their nightmare start to the campaign.

Truro City are also in action tonight and they will look to make it 17 games unbeaten in the Premier Division when they visit Poole Town.

Paul Wotton’s side were good value for their 3-0 win over Winchester City on Saturday, which came courtesy of goals from Rocky Neal (2) and Daniel Sullivan.

Tavistock are in action tomorrow night when they make the trip to Paulton Rovers looking to bounce back from their heartbreaking FA Trophy defeat to Hungerford Town.

Tavi had levelled things up with around five minutes remaining against the National League South outfit, but a last minute goal ended their hopes of taking the game to penalties.

Stuart Henderson’s side are currently sixth, but they have plenty of games in hand on all of the teams above them in the table.

Hungerford were drawn at home to the National South’s bottom club Weymouth in round three, while Torquay United head to Tonbridge Angels, who are currently tenth in National South.

Exmouth ended a run of four straight defeats when they overcame Bashley 3-2 at Southern Road on Saturday. Aaron Denny, Jordan Harris and Levi Landricombe were all on target and tonight, Exmouth head to in-form Wimborne Town, who are unbeaten in their last six.

Bideford’s home clash with Bristol Manor Farm has been postponed, as has Willand Rovers’ home clash with Frome Town tomorrow night.
