Full steam ahead for special festive trips on heritage railway

-

THE Plym Valley Railway in Plympton has announced its special Christmas Express is back again this year, with children able to take a train ride with Father Christmas on a magical festive journey.

The station, in Coypool Road, is a mile-anda-half of heritage railway. It is based on part of the now-closed South Devon and Tavistock Railway and puts on the festive journeys each year.

Children will be able to ride with Father Christmas on December 3, 4, 10, 11 and then from December 17 to December 21.

There are a number of special packages on offer and every child will be given a gift from Santa himself.

A spokesperson for Plym Valley Railway said: “As if Santa wasn’t busy enough already he has kindly offered to visit the Plym Valley Railway in the run up to Christmas. He’ll be double checking his naughty and nice lists and making sure he’s got your lists.

“Our timetable is yet to be announced, sleigh travel is far from ideal in winter weather, however as soon as we have confirmation from the North Pole we’ll provide an update.”

Families can purchase a gold package, which guarantees a private compartment for six people, a complimentary mug and hot drink and a gift and activity bag for all children travelling. This costs £95, while a silver package costs £65, for four people in a carriage, and the bronze package costs £45.
