Toppled tree blocks main road

A MAIN road out of Truro city centre was closed after a large tree fell across the carriageway.

Tregolls Road northbound was closed for several hours to traffic following the incident on Saturday evening.

A massive oak tree on the Alverton Hotel estate was uprooted. Devon and Cornwall Police attended to the fallen tree, along with Cornwall’s highway maintenance team and crews from Truro Community Fire Station.

The incident happened on the A39 northbound shortly after

7pm on Saturday and the carriageway remained closed into yesterday morning.
