Toys that stand the test of time
Lego, board games and puzzles are the gifts parents think are the most timeless, according to the website Gumtree.
Bikes, Barbies, footballs, and the Rubik’s Cube were also popular choices as the toys that parents believe have the most lasting impact, Gumtree found.
It found 87% of parents feel pressure to deliver presents their kids will like.
But it also discovered that 55% of six to 12-year-olds would not mind a second-hand gift.
Gumtree’s Hannah Rouch said toys and games “hold precious memories”.
