Fire damages flat in Exmouth

CREWS from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were on the scene in Exmouth on Sunday night, after a blaze broke out in a first-floor flat.

One woman suffered from mild smoke inhalation and was given oxygen therapy by fire crews and was also checked over an ambulance crew at the scene.

A spokespers­on for the fire service stated: “This was a fire in a first-floor domestic flat. The fire was in the lounge area and was extinguish­ed using eight breathing apparatus wearers and two hose-reel jets.”
