Carnival returns after 24 years
DESPITE the rain, the people of Exeter were determined to give their city’s carnival the welcome it deserved after a 24-year absence.
They did that in style on Saturday, as crowds cheered the parade through the city streets – the first of its kind since 1998.
Organised by InExeter, the Business Improvement District for Exeter, it was deemed a success, bringing festive and colourful cheer with dinosaurs, superheroes, majorettes and plenty of costumes, as well as a host of family events including crafts, storytelling and games.
