No words of a lie, Pinocchio is performing at Theatre Royal Plymouth until January 14

-

STUFF and Nonsense Theatre Company has once again teamed up with Theatre Royal Plymouth to bring its newest family-friendly show, Pinocchio, to the Theatre Royal this Christmas.

Following sell-out shows The Gingerbread Man, The Elves and the Shoemaker and Goldilocks and The Three Bears, this unswervingly energetic and humorous company returns to The Drum with their latest production.

This adaptation of Pinocchio includes the classic elements of the beloved story – a poor woodcarver, the tell-tale growing nose, and the dream of becoming a real boy.

In a grand abandoned house, Grandfather, Father, and Son tell tales of growing up.

A spokesman for Theatre Royal Plymouth praised: “Nonsense’s hallmark hilarity, skilled puppetry, original music, fantastic staging, outstanding performers, and extraordinary physical tricks.”

Niki McCretton, Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company’s artistic director, said: “We want to create work that will connect people through a shared experience.

“The most important thing for me is that the family are talking about the show afterwards together, sharing the bits they loved and talking about why things happened and how the characters feel.

“This is theatre for everyone, not just for young people, pre-schoolers, or teens, but for everyone – from little ones to grandparents!”

Pinocchio is a co-production with Theatre Royal Plymouth, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with additional support from three theatres: The Lighthouse, Poole; The Point, Eastleigh; and The Lyric, Bridport.

Pinocchio opened at the Theatre Royal yesterday and runs until Saturday, January 14. Tickets are available online through the box office at https:// theatreroyal.com/whats-on/2022pinocchio/
