Driver dies in Newquay car collision
ONE man has died following crash in Newquay on Monday afternoon.
Berry Road, in the Cornish town, was closed for a number of hours on Monday, following the collision between a car and a pedestrian.
The driver of a blue BMW X5, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A pedestrian, a local man in his 60s, was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with serious but not lifethreatening injuries.
The victim’s family have been informed.
Devon and Cornwall Police officers arrived on the scene around 5.15pm on Monday and the road was closed in both directions for around two hours. There was slow traffic in and around Newquay as a result of the collision.
