Minister: Hospital will be delivered
THE Government has confirmed that it is fully committed to the delivery of the North Devon District Hospital by 2030. Lord Markham, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Department of Health & Social Care, confirmed the Government’s stance in a letter to North Devon MP, Selaine Saxby. He reiterated that the new hospital scheme for Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is in cohort 4. This will be delivered in the latter half of the decade, which is in line with the national programme approach to delivery.
In his letter he wrote: “Cohort 4 schemes like the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, will fully benefit from the standardised approach at national level, as well as the efficiencies the programme can enable and economies of scale that a national hospital building programme brings.
