THE CAR THAT MADE MERC COOL AGAIN
TEMPTING PCP PRICES, supported by slow depreciation, have helped to drive sales of the A-class in the UK over the past five years. In fact, there were times last year when the A-class was the UK’S fourth bestselling car, behind only the Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Golf and Nissan Qashqai.
As befits Mercedes’ entry-level model, 60% of A-class buyers have never owned a car from the brand before, while more than 70% of those who buy one stay with Mercedes when it comes to their next car, often moving up to bigger models.
The A-class is also popular with younger buyers – hugely relevant if you recall Mercedes’ staid image just a decade ago – with the average A-class buyer 10 years younger than the average Mercedes buyer (though this still puts them in middle age).
